 活動內容

(一)課程單元目標及特色描述:全英授課
2019年8月,全球最大熱帶雨林「亞馬遜森林」因當地政府開墾雨林,以致大火頻傳,不僅對地球大氣造成極大的傷害,這場大火也同時引爆生態浩劫。人類為了追求經濟成長的同時,如何兼顧環境生態的平衡?這是當前身為全球一份子的我們最需了解的課題。聯合國於2015年提出「永續發展目標(Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs)近年來已成為世界各地國際永續發展的共同語言,本課程規劃五個系列,主在探討17個目標中之第13(氣候行動)、14(海洋生態)、15(陸地生態)、17(全球夥伴關係)項目標衍生之保育議題,邀請國際珍古德教育及保育協會中華中國總會郭雪貞執行長,依其長期致力於提升國內保育觀念之經驗,帶領參與課程之學生了解當前全球保育現況及挑戰,最後以實地參訪(台江公園)之方式切深感受其豐富的濕地生命,藉著導覽及微學分課程講解,喚醒學生之保育意識及行動。

Introduction
In our common quest for economic development and enjoyment of the richness of nature, we must also realize that natural resources, and the carrying capacities of eco-systems are limited. We must also take into account the needs of our future generations. This is the message of conservation. Humans engage in development in order to provide social and economic welfare, yet we must also engage in conservation to ensure that Earth's resources are sustainably looked after to be able to support life.

Not only do we have relentless capacity to build and create, we have our great powers to destroy and annihilate. In the face of soaring global population, we choose shortsighted practices to exploit natural resources. This leads to many threats and challenges such as habitat loss, illegal wildlife trade, ocean plastic pollution and climate change.

This course is designed along two parallel pathways. Half of the lessons will be devoted to exploring the many challenges of global conservation in detail, through lectures, student presentations, and discussions. We will attempt, in the other half of the lessons, to forge a tangible connection between conservation ideals and real-life participation. This translates into group work that plans, executes and reviews global and local campaigns through the Roots & Shoots network.

Course aims
The aim of this course is to introduce students to the global conservation threats and challenges, as well as the history, theories and practices of conservation practices. Besides providing students with an overview of the threats and challenges, the course will also offer mandatory practical projects so that students may engage in real-life, hands-on collaborative efforts that hone planning, coordinating, communicating, analytical and thinking skills.

 注意事項

【學分抵認注意事項】

1.「通識微學分A群」、「通識微學分B群」與「通識微學分C群」當修滿1學分,系統將自動提出學分抵認申請,通過後於當學期成績單登錄該科目為「通過」,承認其學分數,不計入學期學業平均成績及畢業成績計算。

2.適用105學年度(含)以前之課程配當者,「通識微學分A群」、「通識微學分B群」、「通識微學分C群」,任修滿2學分,可抵認任一領域之一般通識課程2學分,其他三個領域請選一般通識課程修習,意即通識微學分課程僅採計2學分。

3.適用106學年度(含)以後之課程配當者,行動學堂、「通識微學分A群」、「通識微學分B群」、「通識微學分C群」,任修滿2學分,可抵認任一領域之一般通識課程2學分,其他三個領域請選一般通識課程修習,意即通識微學分課程僅採計2學分。

4.若無法於當學期修滿1學分,則可繼續累計學分數,直到大四畢業為止。若大四同學未在時限內登錄學分,逾期則視同放棄。

5.學生可任意選修「通識微學分A群」、「通識微學分B群」與「通識微學分C群」,惟各群之課程單元學分數僅採計1學分,且不得跨群累加,相同課名只採記一次學分。

6.學生必須秉持自主學習的精神選課,自行判斷所選課程與「通識微學分A群」、「通識微學分B群」與「通識微學分C群」課程是否衝堂。進行學分登錄時,若被發現該時段有衝堂情況,則該時段「通識微學分A群」、「通識微學分B群」與「通識微學分C群」學分將不予承認。
